The Widow by mcguan The Widow by mcguan
Another Black Widow piece, with a few stylistic nods to her character origins. That ol' Soviet Russia made for some great red, black and white designing. I did about 5 different variations with this before I made myself stop. Photoshop is great for the flexibility, but it can be harmful to the sanity of obsessives like myself (not to mention my computer's memory).

Pigma Micron & Pitt Pens, Pentel Color Brush and Photoshop. The font is Blambots "Flyboy."

Ahhh, well while I think actually using a hammer and/or sickle is a little unsubtle for her, this does have a nice retro Soviet Russia feel.

Sure, I was just using them as props to get that nod to her origins in there. Thanks for checking it out!

This piece F'NG ROCKS! Sultry pose and hair. Fantastic execution on the highlights. Love the texture/brush effect. Her "tools" are a subtle touch. I want a poster of this! This is cover material! Hellooo...Marvel...you seein' this $#!T?

That's not Scarlett as BW, right?

Nope. I actually didn't mind ScarJo. She wouldn't have been my first choice, but I thought she was all right. I'm still trying to figure out my style/look for BW.

In all honesty, this turned out reminding me of Uma Thurman as Emma Peel in that OTHER Avengers movie (Terrible movie. Great costuming though).

that's not a bad way to go. Other than that movie, I think that costume is represented in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Thanks - I have another design in mind for her that incorporates the hammer and sickle again. I just need to do a lot of prep so it turns out half as cool as I have it pictured in my head.

sounds AWESOME

I have a villain in the TRDL Universe, cheekily called Hammer & Tong (a speedster) who literally CARRIES them. And uses them violently.
